Position Overview

The Strategic Alliance Manager is responsible for building relationships with 3rd party business partners (reseller, referral and integration partners) that drive new business and protect existing business.  This individual will establish new alliances to drive sales and revenue. The responsibilities include; initiating new relationships, identifying mutually beneficial relationship structure, working cross functionally to align resources, negotiating business terms and managing ongoing partners.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitors markets, industries, companies, competitor and sales activities in order to identify potential business partners
  • Establishing relationship with a 3rd party business partner
  • Works closely with internal Product, Operations, Development, Sales, Customer Success and Service teams to evaluate and execute on new partner relationships
  • Responsible for identifying, investigating, analyzing and negotiating new alliance partnerships
  • Responsible for negotiating business terms and works with legal to develop and execute alliance agreements
  • Work with the Product, Development and Operations teams in support of technical due diligence and partner integration
  • Work with prospective alliance partners and internal cross functional team members to help ensure effective onboarding of new alliance partners
  • Work with Marketing and Customer Success to implement an effective sales and marketing program to drive partner sales and increase customer retention
  • Work with Customer Success and Operations to deliver the highest quality service to the partner and customer
  • Manage assigned alliance partners to drive sales and revenue to exceed sales goals

 

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (MBA preferred)
  • 3-5 years alliance business development experience, direct sales and/or account management
  • Proven experience developing and managing strategic 3rd party relationships
  • Successful track record in meeting and/or exceeding sales goals
  • Cross functional team leadership experience and skills
  • Superior skills and ability to present and communicate effectively with C-level executives
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguity and define and execute goals and objectives within evolving strategic context
  • Capable of working independently and recommending decisions but also being a great teammate
  • Full time position, 10% - 25% travel required
